A crushing victory for the Germans! Ajax and Achilles are left badly damaged as Graf Spee makes a run for Montevideo due to a ruptured fuel system. A parting torpedo spread sank the Achilles whilst Ajax was crippled by repeated 11” hits. “There is something wrong with our ships today”!
