Club was bustling with activity this week with three different games being enjoyed.
28mm Gettysburg Third Day – Black Powder with Glory Alleluia Supplement
The game represented the titanic struggle on the third day of Gettysburg with the Confederates last major attack on the Union main line. Several Friends had their collections on the XL table for this game. It was an exciting contest with the Confederates pushing hard all day, and managing a breakthrough the Union frontline in at least one place. However their casualties meant that, when time was called, the game was a Union win. Better luck next time, Johnny Reb!

15mm New Kingdom Egyptian v. Hittite – Hail Caesar
A classic Biblical match-up with the bow-armed Pharaoh’s boys taking on the hard-charging Hittites. The Hittites managed to mass their chariots against one Egyptian wing and the Egyptian foot on the other wing couldn’t march fast enough to intervene. Another win for the Hittite Empire!

28mm World War 2 British v. German NW Europe – Home grown rules
First time on the table for this lovely collection of 28mm figures. The game was set in early 1945, somewhere near the Rhine. A platoon of British infantry (from the Worcestershire Regiment, of course!) encountered a platoon of Wehrmacht infantry with both sides seeking to scout out the enemy lines and capture strong points. The British spotted the Germans first and initiated the firefight. While the British had the better of the firefight initially, eventually both sides were driven back through their losses and the game was agreed a draw.
